  • From 2010 it has rebranded in the context of the environment shifting from relief needs to public service delivery. It positions itself to engage government in policy making and policy development. Basing its work on ideology, values or strategic interests it seeks to be one of the policy actors in democratic society, assuring pluralistic, open and accountable processes of policy analysis, research, decision making and evaluation. It embarked on networking for rights based programmes in 2010-2011. Notable among others are The transition strategy developed for partnering with The AIDS Support organization (TASO),External end of project evaluation of HOPE project, Alliance with Swiss Open Hand Foundation for rural poor people’s access to micro-credit for development, Development of Strategies for policy research and advocacy (engaging with ACODE and UNESCO), Participation in a UNESCO consultancy on organizations providing education for peace with a view to influence policy on peace education in Uganda involving the National Curriculum Development Centre and Micro credit for micro enterprises development in northern Uganda (MEDEN) programme.

EPPOVHA’s mission will be to influence development and governance policies for the promotion of social justice. It will seek to evolve into a Think Tank. It will be transformed to play the following roles in relation to other policy actors:

  • Seek political support for policies
  • Legitimize policies
  • Provide Space for debate
  • Expert cadres of policy-makers
